The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts Adopt a School Trust is a national charity.
Our vision is that every child has the confidence to eat well, be healthy and happy.
Through our chef team and brigade of volunteers, Adopt a School reaches over 15,000 children every year.
We work with schools, special educational needs schools, youth clubs and on farms. We aim not only to provide a vital life skill for children, but also to inspire the next generation of chefs.
Practical cookery and food education have been compulsory on the national curriculum in England for pupils aged 5-14 years since 2014. Despite this, many children still do not receive the food education and basic cookery skills to give them essential life skills upon which to build in adult years. As childhood obesity and malnutrition increase and as schools become further stretched in terms of time, resources, and budget, there could not be a better or indeed more critical time to support Adopt a School.
We are hugely appreciative that UK Best 100 Taste Awards 2023 have chosen us to be its charity partner this year. We are grateful for this opportunity to raise the profile of our work as we strive to make a difference to children’s lives.
Your generosity and support will enable us to continue our vision: delivering food education to children and sending young people on our popular ‘Chef on the Farm’ visits to learn where food comes from and to see for themselves how Farm to Fork works.
Thank you from all of us here at Adopt a School Trust!
